MAINE BEVERAGE COMPANY IS UP AND RUNNING

Maine Beverage Company signed a 10-year contract with the State of Maine on Friday, May 14 th, 2004. Since that time, we’ve been working around the clock, often literally, to affect a seamless transition of the wholesale liquor business so that suppliers, agency stores and consumers won’t experience any disruption in service.

Maine Beverage Company began taking orders on June 23rd and began shipping out of our bailment warehouse in Augusta early in the morning on June 28th. While there have been hiccups as there would be in any transition of this magnitude, we’re excited by the challenge and look forward to the opportunities to offer an array of expanded and enhanced services to our retail partners, the agency stores, and to Maine consumers.

Maine Beverage Company is pleased to partner with Pine State Trading Company for our warehousing and distribution services. As a key service partner, Pine State manages bailment warehousing, customer service, product picking and distribution.

Our warehouse is on the Pine State campus at 8 Ellis Avenue in Augusta, as are the corporate offices of Maine Beverage Company.

We anticipate bringing new and exciting products to the Maine market in a quicker fashion then ever before. While always keeping any eye towards responsible consumption, Maine Beverage Company looks to increase funding of advertising, marketing and promotions, including partnering with many charitable organizations around the state.

MEET THE MAINE BEVERAGE COMPANY TEAM

PRESIDENT AND CEO:   D. Dean Williams has and continues to serve as Vice President of Martignetti Companies of NH, Inc and has over 23 years of industry experience. In New Hampshire’s control state environment, Dean has actively promoted the use of technology to improve operating systems that have provided more efficient monitoring of inventories and more responsive and accurate systems to avoid out-of-stocks.

Dean grew up, was educated and began his professional career in Cumberland, Maine and still has family members living and working in Maine. Dean is anxious to begin the work of managing a second-to-none wholesale operation in his home state.

Chief Financial Officer: George Woods has more than 17 years of executive and managerial experience and extensive knowledge of complex accounting and cash management systems. George most recently was Controller for Lynch Logistics, Inc/Lynco., Inc. in Bangor and previously served as Assistant Treasurer and Controller at Interface Fabrics Group, Inc., formerly Guilford of Maine for 6 years.

Receptionist/Office Manager: Heidi Bunnell will be the enthusiastic and energetic voice you’ll hear when you call Maine Beverage Company. Heidi joins us after working for various employers in administrative capacities, most recently as the Billing Coordinator for OnTarget Locating Services.

Sales Representatives: Maine Beverage Company has four people who will focus solely on agency stores and providing merchandising and technical assistance to them.

Michael Small will visit accounts in Aroostook County and northern Penobscot County. Michael has sixteen years in sales and had previously been employed by Reid’s Confectionary since 1985.

Rob Brown will visit accounts in central Maine, from Jackman to the Washington/Hancock County coast. Rob grew up in Canada and is a hockey enthusiast and most recently worked for Beverage Mart, serving accounts that he will continue to visit on behalf of Maine Beverage Company.

Kevin Clarke will cover accounts in York and Cumberland counties, as well as southern Oxford County. Kevin was the Northeast Regional Sales Manager for Collins International, a Boston-based company with a diverse portfolio of brands. Kevin has been in sales since 1995 and previously coached and competed on the World Pro Ski Tour.

Customer and Sales Analysis Administrator :


IT Operator: We are fortunate that Omer Gagne, another former BABLO employee, will also make the transition to Maine Beverage Company. Omer will be focusing on information technology matters.
